Hotel Heimari is located by Lake Saimaa, along a ship navigation route and at the edge of a beautiful forest, only 14 kilometres away from the centre of the City of Mikkeli. The area comprises Hotel Heimari, the conference venue Kerhola, Villa Aurala and the Sauna facilities.

Besides the beautiful surroundings, Hotel Heimari is also well-known for its abundant buffet.

Hotel Heimari stands for space and quietness, and it is an excellent venue for conferences, training days and various parties, as well as spending holidays in. We do our very best to please our guests with flexible service, yet affordable prices. Hotel Heimari is a venue that can cater for the needs of groups of all sizes, as we can seat as many as 250 people.

Hotel Heimari offers you an opportunity to change your meeting routines and enjoy clean, fresh air outside the city centre.

The location of the hotel also enables various activities both indoors and outside. The surrounding nature and our diverse facilities offer opportunities for a variety of activities, for example skiing in the winter and brisk strolling in the beautiful surroundings. The jogging track right next to the hotel is a good choice of exercise especially in the summer.

You can spice up your stay - be it business or pleasure - by playing some miniature golf, disc golf or volley ball, or by going swimming, row boating or fishing, just to mention a few examples. In case of bad weather, you can play billiards, carrom or table tennis to keep boredom away. A nice workout in our small gym is best rewarded by a refreshing dip into Lake Saimaa. For those not too keen on physical exercise, we offer a large selection of various board games.

In the summer, M/S Jaarli makes lunch cruises from the City of Mikkeli to Hotel Heimari.

Hotel Heimari has a long history

In 1922, Hotel Heimari was purchased as a rest and retirement home by the Finnish Union of Post-Office Officials, which today is known as the Finnish Post and Logistics Union, PAU. The original main building has been replaced by a conference venue built in 1982. Over the recent years, Hotel Heimari has witnessed several renovations - all of them carried out while taking environmental aspects into consideration. The hotel’s renovated rooms meet the expectations of today’s hotel guests. The main restaurant seats as many as 200 people, and there are also cabinets, conference rooms and saunas to meet various needs. VIP accommodation and service for smaller groups is available in Villa Aurala, which is also located in the hotel area.
